What Has Changed Since the Uncivil War?

The Battle of Antietam that was the most deadly conflict in a one-day battle known on American soil to this day. The toll of the dead numbered over 23,000 men killed by the war of the brothers, as the valiant warriors fought so gallantly to help preserve what either side believed the nation should be. Now the word secession is on the tongues of some. Yet here we are all these 149 years in the future from those ghastly days of the American Civil War and it appears that the same issues are now as evident as they were back in those dark days.
When I say issues, I am speaking of the states rights issues, the monetary situations, the issue of African Americans, and their rights. Now the interesting thing is the fact that we have a President who is like no other President America has ever known! Barak H. Obama is certainly not a name that some Americans feel confident about, although I am not sure why that is. The man is well spoken, intelligent in his actions, seems to be sincere in his beliefs about the country and where it is headed and what he wants for the citizens of this great and glorious nation seems at least on the surface to be right minded.
A question that lies in my mind waiting to be answered, is what if he succeeds in truly changing the vogue of the nation today by creating the new green economy using windpower for an electric source, retooling the car manufacturing segment, creating jobs that might actually pay one’s bills and have enough money to put a little bit back for a rainy day. What will all of his critics have to COMPLAIN about then?
