Little Round Top’s prominence on the battlefield at Gettysburg was apparent to all who
fought in the battle.
Which ever Army could secure this rocky knoll would control the confrontation.
Birney’s troops in the area of Devil’s Den were giving way in the riotous
bewilderment of the battle.
The Rebels came charging toward the ancient rocks in a flurry headed directly towards that
rocky knoll that the Confederates so wanted to control.
